P3 FitBit Study

The P3 FitBit Study is an ancillary study to the main P3 study

Only women who are enrolled in P3 or intend to enroll in P3 are eligible for P3-Fitbit
What is the P3-Fitbit study?
- The P3-Fitbit study will evaluate activity and sleep by using a FitBit tracking device (provided by us), linked to a research tracking database (fitabase).

Should I change my activity at all now that I’m in this study?

- We recommend you go about your normal activities. The purpose of this study is to observe your activity level and your sleep. No specific changes in your activity patterns or sleep are recommended just because you are in the study.

What do I need to do to sync my Fitbit with the fitabase research program?
- There are no specific actions you will need to take once your Fitbit is initially hooked up to fitabase. When your Fitbit syncs with your smartphone, it will automatically sync with fitabase. We will make sure that we are receiving data from your Fitbit on a regular basis. If we don’t receive data for a few days we will contact you by phone, email, or text.

What do I do if my Fitbit breaks or stops working?
You should first contact Fitbit customer service. You can use live chat, or call or email them. Tell them the problem and ask for a replacement Fitbit if the device stops working.

What if I lose my Fitbit?
Participants are responsible for the device that has been provided to them. If it is lost or broken, we are unable to supply you with another FitBit.

Will I have access to my Fitbit data?
Yes! you will be able to see your information on your wrist on the device and also be able to look at it in your app and on the Fitbit website.

What happens at the end of the study?
When you deliver or reach full term, the fitabase program will stop monitoring your activity.

At the end of the study (delivery), you’ll be able to keep the Fitbit device as a small “thank you” for taking part in this important research.
