COPES PLUS
Study

COrona: Pregnancy Effects of Stress
PLUS
What is the COPES PLUS Study?
We are inviting a subset of women to a second part of the COrona: Pregnancy Effects of Stress (COPES) Study.
The COPES-PLUS study will add biospecimen collection to the survey and clinical data we are already collecting as a
part of the COPES study.

What is the purpose of the COPES PLUS Study?
The purpose of this study is to learn more about how markers of stress in your body, including markers of stress
that affect your genes, might affect whether or not you develop pregnancy complications.

What will the study involve?

As a part of this study, we will ask you participants to provide a sample of blood at the time of your next regularly scheduled clinical blood draw.

Are there any risks?
There are minimal risks associated with this study: a small risk of loss of confidentiality, minimized by us coding all of your
information with a study number rather than your name.

Are there any benefits to participation?
There is no potential for direct benefit to you if you participate.

Will participants receive anything for participation?
When blood is collected for this research study, participants will receive a 'newborn care' gift  - a value estimated at $15-$20. This may contain diapers, wipes, diaper cream, or similar items.
